a place of peace, love and freedom of expression

Life through the eyes of a child.

HEAVENLY FRAGRANCE

Uplifting the fragrances wafting my way
as I walk 'long the path on a bright summer's day
wild flowers bloom 'mongst the hedgerows and walls
and the brook babbles joyfully o'er small waterfalls

It all speaks of life and the way it should be
a heavenly fragrance for you and for me
and the children who run through life's playground each day
an innocence so pure in their eyes on display

Like blossoming flowers in the newness of spring
in summer they glow and such joy they do bring
as autumn leaves fall there's a hush all around
and as winter approaches fairy tales abound

Snuggled up warm by the fire of life
cozy, the children far away from all strife
as the days become longer and spring fast approaches
the children awaken; their chatter encroaches

Ready they are full of love and such grace
the doors open wide and they fully embrace
renewal now birthed - it soon becomes plain
the newness of life as it bursts forth again

I contemplate all that has passed through my mind
as I've walked through my life in my heart I do find
a constancy flows through the cycles of life
'tis the love of the One who does free us of strife

Uplifting the fragrances wafting my way
as I walk 'long the path on a bright summer's day
wild flowers bloom 'mongst the hedgerows and walls
and the brook babbles joyfully o'er small waterfalls

THERE IS THIS THING

There is this thing inside our minds
how often do we use it?
in fact perhaps we do forget
and even we abuse it!

This thing creates the perfect pix
should we allow it rope
with paints and brushes all can be
a Vincent in our scope

As children we did use this thing
to make our days as magic
as adults now we tend to let
minds run awry - how tragic!

Now's the time to claim reuse -
requires reactivation
for this perfected tool of ours'
is our imagination

Used with wisdom and discernment
life now manifests
as love and peace and harmony
and everyone is blessed

THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD

Through the eyes of a child
The world is so bright
All sweetness and laughter
A pure delight
Nothing but wonder
And light in the skies
A child-like innocence
With stars in their eyes
A world full of love
And heavenly peace
Nothing but goodness
And happy release
Each day is Christmas
And birthday in one
Hugs and much joyfulness
Life is such fun
No sadness or sorrow
The moment is liven
The child an example
And all is forgiven
Expression of hope
That tomorrow will be
Many more moments
Of skipping so free
Their wide open eyes
And wondrous smile
Let's all see life
Through the eyes of a child

LIFE GOES ROUND

The merry-go-round of love goes round
Love goes round, love goes round
The merry-go-round of love goes round
With love it shares its magic

The merry-go-round of joy goes round
Joy goes round, joy goes round
The merry-go-round of joy goes round
With joy it shares its beauty

The merry-go-round of peace goes round
Peace goes round, peace goes round
The merry-go-round of peace goes round
With peace it shares its calmness

The merry-go-round of life goes round
Life goes round, life goes round
The merry-go-round of life goes round
A never ending story

I'M A LITTLE RAINDROP

I'm a little raindrop
Small and round
I water the garden
Hear my sound
As the grass gets greener
The flowers smile
Giving me pleasure
To go the extra mile

I'm a little raindrop
Wetting you
As you walk along the road
Perhaps feeling blue
When I'm on your shoulder
Hear me say
Play in my puddles
And make my day

I'm a little raindrop
Falling down
Creating a river
Please don't frown
Instead enjoy my presence
For without me
You'd be so dry
Without my company

I'm a little raindrop
Dancing light
Splashing and sploshing
In the night
Laughing all the way
Out to the sea
Flowing so sweetly
In harmony

Now you've heard my story
I think I'll stop
Falling today
As a raindrop
Then the sun can shine
Through my rainbow
Till another time
I need to show

I'm a little raindrop
Small and round
I water the garden
Hear my sound
As the grass gets greener
The flowers smile
Giving me pleasure
To go the extra mile

I'M A DOUBLE-DECKER BUS

I'm a double-decker bus
And I move with no fuss
Along the Douglas Promenade
Each morning I do drive
And I feel so alive
And my work isn't very hard

My engine it does purr
And my wheels they do whirr
Each day as I drive to work
The people I deliver
Some live near the river
So their ride with me is a lurk

Each day along my routes
The views they do bear fruit
For the tourists they love them so
The next time I arrive
The route will be the Drive
For I know this is the way to go

A double decker dream
My colours red and cream
I'm the pride of the Manx Transport
Down the little narrow roads
I take my joyful loads
Sometimes ending down at the Fort

As a double decker bus
There really is no fuss
For life really is a pleasure
The people ride with me
They smile each day with glee
My work they make purely leisure

I'm a double-decker bus
I do love all the fuss
When I drive down to the Sound
All the people love Cregneash
When I let them off the leash
I collect them on return next round

In the evening when I finish
I never am diminished
For I always enjoy my work
I'm a double-decker bus
And I enjoy the rush
And finish the day with a smirk

CAT AND MOUSE

The Cat and Mouse they played all day

Wondering who had final say

At dinner time the cat says "ME"

'Cos he thinks it's time for tea

But Mouse, he has the scene worked out

He says "Hey wait, what's this about?

I am THE MOUSE and you're THE CAT

Let's be friends and that is that"

So Cat and Mouse, good friends became

Always now do they refrain

And in the process they perceive

That life gives out what it receives

YES I CAN, I KNOW I CAN

Yes I can
I know I can
Who said I can't was wrong
Like puffing Bill
Going up the hill
I can, I can - my song

As I climb up
The mountain tall
I chuff and puff away
Yet know I have
The strength to go
All the bloomin' way

Oh yes I can
I know I can
I ride the wave so tall
As I keep going
All the way
I do no longer fall

So up I go
Up all the way
I'm now upon the top
I see the view
I shout and laugh
No longer do I stop

I'm here, I'm here
I made it well
So downward do I go
Enjoying freedom
All the way
I'm going with the flow

I'm down again
Another hill
Presents for me to climb
Away I go
Begin again
This really is sublime

It's all about
Not giving up
But keep right on a-going
Life it is
A merry game
That keeps right on a-flowing

So yes I can,
I know I can
Who said I can't was wrong
Once more I go
Continue on
I can, I can - my song

COME PLAY WITH ME

The little girl

Comes out to play

She plays with words

She plays all day

She has such fun

There is no doubt

That in the throes

She did find out

That in the joys

Of words supreme

There is a love

There is a dream

Mmmmm she said

She laughs and plays

More of that

She's heard to say.

I call to you

To one and all

Lets play today

This is my call

There's joy and fun

And laughter free

So come and play

Come play with me.

For what is there

To lose my friend

Nothing of course

To you I send

My love and joy

To all around

My peace and hope

That you have found

Its good to play

It is so free

So come and play

Come play with me.
