Elizabeth's Poetry Haven

a place of peace, love and freedom of expression

In my ongoing heart's desire for peace - both inner and global - I have written this song to a variation of the well-known tune of THE MARINE'S HYMN of the US Marine Corps. (I cannot say why this tune was the one for this song but that it was the tune running through my mind as I wrote the words.!)

I would like to thank my dear friend Lisa Gabriel of Lincoln, UK, whose wonderful musical skills created the audio file for you to sing along to.  Thank you Lisa

THERE IS PEACE
(Lyrics)

All are marching now in victory
for the saints have done their work
All of life's now lived in harmony
there has been no time to shirk

Chorus:
There is peace at last and brotherhood
and love and joy abound
All are one at last, together now
for the saints work was profound

Let us celebrate a job well done
as the New Day now is here
Let us smile and clap and jump for joy
for there's love in every sphere

(Chorus)

As we hug our brothers everywhere
and our sisters too of course
We all deserve the goal attained
reconnecting to the Source

(Chorus)

Now the Cup of Love is our's to sup
as we go along the way
Life is now abundant paradise
what a wondrous joyful day

(Chorus)
