As many know, the Bee Gees, Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb were born in the Isle of Man and lived here for much of their childhood before moving to Manchester, England (where Andy Gibb was born) and then later to Australia. They finally settled in USA.
In 1998, they recorded one of the Manx (Isle of Man) well-known anthems "ELLAN VANNIN" and they sang it, with Robin Gibb as lead vocalist, at Wembley Stadium in London.
As the anthem is so beautiful, and the Bee Gee's rendition is so spine-chilling, I have created this page specially for your pleasure and in their honour. Robin Gibb and his wife now spend much of their time on the Island and own a property in Peel.
Here are the words of the anthem and in the background enjoy the Bee Gees singing it...listen to it and perhaps even join in with them
Enjoy

ELLAN VANNIN
When the summer day is over
Its busy cares have flown
I will sit beneath the starlight
With a weary heart alone
Then it rises like a vision
Sparkling bright it shines for me
My own dear Ellan Vannin
With its green hills by the sea
Let me hear the ocean murmur
Let me watch your stormy sky
Then above the emerald waters
Sings the seagull as she flies
Then it rises like a vision
Sparkling bright it shines for me
My own dear Ellan Vannin
With its green hills by the sea
And in all my times of sorrow
And on some lonely shore
I'll go back to Ellan Vannin
To my childhood days once more
